Nikon Shooters Unite: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewHi Ana, At the end of the day: – the body is less important than the lenses attached to it – the lenses are less important than the eye *behind* the body & lens. It’s doubtful you’ll outgrow either body for a long time, so getting hung up on minor technical specs which won’t affect [...]

Lighting: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewHi all,
I was cleaning out my garage today and found two Bowens 500ws Prolite 82 monolights.
Just the heads in a hard case. Fully working and tested.
$200 (way way too cheap, but hey, I’m nice like that!)

Portraits & People: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewCongrats man! I’m guessing it wasn’t a commissioned series for you, so I gotta ask – how did you price the licenses? Always a tricky one, so would be good to know (you don’t have to give us the price, just how you got there!) I had some of my work in the December issue [...]

The lighting forum would be best.
Much better to post in the forums than as a group ’update’
As for the link, if you have the inclination, I highly recommend Neil’s workshops – I joined one last year – great time had by all!

Ah… in that case, you were only uploading the low res ‘preview’ file Aperture generates so you can see things on screen. These are very small, very low res files. You *need* to export files you are going to be delivering (be it on disc, to a website, via email, etc.) as this is the [...]

Ana, You have full control over the size/type of file that’s being exported. There are a number of ‘Presets’ and you can also add your own. So, when exporting, you are given the option of choosing not only the naming structure of the exported file, but also the size/properties of the exported file, under “Export [...]

If you can repost this in the actual forum, and not as an update, it would help.
I’ll post help once its there.

Nikon Shooters Unite: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewTechnical specs do not a photographer make – a good photographer can shoot a far more compelling image with a homemade pinhole camera, than can a bad photographer with the most technically perfect equipment.
Having said that – kudos to Nikon – they really do seem to be pushing hard at the moment.

I’m pretty jammed up on weekends for November, so if I do’t make this one, I think we should have another in December! (Justin – you can wear mittens if you’re worried about the cold!)
Location: Clifton Heritage Park?
That’s my suggestion.
Now need some more input and some dates.

Nikon Shooters Unite: 1 year, 8 months ago · ViewIn a rather weird turn of events, the D3000 is now at the top of the Amazon bestseller charts. Looks like the target market is rushing to buy the more-than-adequate older model at almost a third of the price! That might be a bad sign. Consumers don’t tend to care about ISO expansion and metal [...]

Nikon Shooters Unite: 1 year, 8 months ago · ViewSeems to be trying to take a consumer sized body style and pitch it against the ‘pro-sumer’ 60D (which it rivals in specs and price)
Rare to see a consumer sized body in this price/feature bracket. Will be interesting to see how it fares.

Nikon Shooters Unite: 1 year, 8 months ago · ViewThe D7000 looks like a great competitor to the Canon T2i in the consumer bracket, though the pricing is pretty high for a body in the XXXX line. Interesting to see the Amazon top 10 is an even split of 5 Nikon bodies and 5 Canon bodies. (Though still not sure how the #1 bestseller [...]

Yea Ana I have to agree with Ben on this one,It doesn’t matter which system your using, you NEED good glass to truly exploit the sensors of the cameras,Particularly if your camera has a lot of mega pixels.
Thank you, Ben and Law.
Indeed, now that I can get a new camera, I am worst than a kid in a candy shop!
I was thinking the difference in mega pixels and ISO were so great but you both are correct: the specs are minor specially taking in consideration what I have started with (both are a huge jump ahead!).
Thanks and I will post what I get when i get it!
Cheers,
Ana
Decision made: D300S.
Have it and am now getting used to the new MANY buttons!!!
Love it.
